FAQ

Is there Japanese voice acting in Breathedge 2?
No. Japanese gets the full interface and subtitles, but the game's only full-audio languages at Early Access launch are English and Russian.
Does Breathedge 2 support Simplified Chinese?
Yes — Simplified Chinese is one of the 13 supported languages, with the interface and subtitles translated. There is no Chinese voice track.
How do I change the game's language?
Through Steam: right-click the game in your library, choose Properties, and pick a language on the Language tab. The selected language applies the next time you launch.

Which languages have voice acting

Only English and Russian include full audio. Every other language on the table is subtitles-only.

That split tracks the studio behind the game: RedRuins Softworks is a Russian developer, and the game’s publisher-facing market is English-speaking — so the two full voice tracks cover the production language and the primary market. The comedy delivery lives entirely in those two performances; everyone else reads the jokes.

The English track has already had a second pass: hotfix 0.8.9 (September 13, 2026) re-recorded and replaced the Suit’s entire English voiceover, bringing back the actor who voiced the first game. The developers’ stated reason: the game’s humor is written and voiced in Russian first, and the Suit carries it, so the English performance deserved the redo. Russian audio is unchanged — the patch notes tracker has the full changelog.

For a game whose humor is one of its selling points, that matters when choosing a language: the subtitles are complete, but timing and deadpan delivery are native to the English and Russian tracks.

How to change the language

Steam controls the language selection:

  1. In your Steam library, right-click Breathedge 2.
  2. Choose Properties.
  3. Open the Language tab and pick from the dropdown.

The change applies on the next launch. Achievements, saves, and cloud sync are unaffected — language is a display layer, not a separate install (unlike some games that download per-language voice packs, this one has nothing extra to download for subtitles-only languages).

Will more languages be added?

Nothing further has been announced. The Early Access roadmap commits to new chapters, locations, and characters — localization plans are not on it. If more languages ship, this table gets updated — it carries the game-version badge for exactly that reason.

While you are setting things up: the system requirements guide covers gamepad settings (the AZERTY and PS-controller detection issues from the 0.8.5 notes still had no claimed fix as of 0.8.9), and the save file guide shows where your progress lives and how to back it up.
