How do achievements work in Breathedge 2?
The Early Access build ships 39 achievements, all of them tied to Chapter 1 content. Every single unlock grants a small permanent stat bonus — think extra Max Oxygen or Max Health, slower hunger and thirst drain, or points of cold and radiation protection — so they are worth grabbing for survival reasons, not just profile decoration. The perk each achievement grants is listed in the game’s own Achievements tab, which is the authoritative place to check exact values.
Launch-week guide coverage reports all 39 are completable in a single playthrough, with none flagged as permanently missable — many are optional gags that only unlock if you go interact with the world. As RedRuins adds chapters through free updates during Early Access (see the Early Access roadmap), the list will grow — this guide covers the launch roster verified against build 0.8.

Which achievements unlock around the starting train?
Seven of them live in or around your wrecked train, and most are single interactions. Do them before your first long trip — every one grants a permanent bonus you will feel immediately.

|---|---|---|---|
| Emergency brake | Pull the red brake by the toilet door before you first leave the train | Max Thirst +10 | 37.9% |
| Click-click | Flick the toilet light switch on and off repeatedly | Max Stamina +10 | 14.3% |
| Hacker | Open the keypad door near the train’s exit — code 0861 | Max Health +10 | 30.5% |
| Gotta do it | Throw the sneakers (with leg bones attached) over the power lines by the train | Electrical Protection +10 | 47.2% |
| Conehead | Take the traffic-cone helmet off the corpse below the train and equip it once | Fatigue Drain −5% | 36.0% |
| Curious | Take your helmet off in open space | Flight Speed +5% | 30.6% |
| Déjà vu | Turn the wrecked bus’s steering wheel until it breaks (hidden) | Flight Speed +5% | 26.3% |
Which achievements come from repairs and restorations?
Chapter 1 is full of broken machines, and fixing seven of them pays out achievements. The attendant repair quest and the three antennas quest walk through the two biggest repair chains — the Alphabet letters sit scattered within a 20-meter radius of the taxi sign (the 0.8.7 patch notes confirmed that spread is intentional, not a bug).
| Achievement | How to unlock it | Bonus* | Steam rate** |
|---|---|---|---|
| Attendant | Return the attendant’s three missing parts — body, arm, head, in that order (full walkthrough) | Physical Protection +2 | 61.7% |
| Shipbuilder | Repair the rocket toilet right of the train rails with basic materials (Plastic, Metal, Wires) and launch it | Oxygen Consumption −5% | 47.4% |
| Weird toilet | Fully repair the odd toilet near Chuck’s Taxi — it wants a battery — then use it | Cold Protection +10 | 42.1% |
| Leader | Restore all six colored pieces to the broken Leader statue | Gas Reserve +20 | 40.6% |
| Now That’s a Snowman! | Repair the gas-lamp heaters along the yellow pipes, melt the ice, and restore the snowman’s parts | Cold Protection +5 | 34.7% |
| Consistency | Grab the floating “4” and return it to the accident-free-years sign by the crashed train | Oxygen Consumption −5% | 38.7% |
| Alphabet | Restore the three missing letters to the Chuck’s Taxi sign near the 10G antenna | Thirst Drain −5% | 27.0% |
Which achievements are one-off gags and interactions?
Fourteen achievements are interactive jokes — pulling things, inspecting corpses, provoking the cops. A few are progression-gated: Prankster after the first story quest, Gladiator after the Interphone repair, and Medalist after the antenna repair. The Bum himself is profiled in the crew guide.
| Achievement | How to unlock it | Bonus* | Steam rate** |
|---|---|---|---|
| Safe content | Pull the four floating training dummies into the lockers — the locker count was not registered before 0.8.9 | Radiation Protection +10 | 67.1% |
| Public enemy no. 1 | Rip the giant donut off the police station | Flight Speed +5% | 34.9% |
| Traditional Values | Scrap the love locks off the heart-marked railing platform | Max Health +10 | 45.9% |
| Go down in history | Assemble the sculpture from its three pieces near the blue toilets by the Hubble | Max Satiety +10 | 37.1% |
| People person | Inspect 10 bodies — one guide notes the Safe content dummies count | Max Oxygen +30 | 46.9% |
| System Administrator | Destroy every cache (four small, one large) in the Hubble area | Cold Protection +5 | 29.6% |
| What Did You Expect? | After Fighter, inspect the red engine in the bus’s wheel compartment (hidden) | Heat Protection +5 | 33.3% |
| Fighter | Try three times to free the old woman’s arm from the wrecked bus window | Cold Protection +5 | 25.0% |
| Gladiator | After the Interphone repair, beat the Bum in the fair fight over the train bunk | Max Health +10 | 27.3% |
| Biometrics | Drag the matching painted corpse to the outlined bench by the station — reportedly opens a hidden compartment (hidden) | Oxygen Consumption −5% | 31.4% |
| Medalist | Get close to the medal-filled car near Chuck’s Taxi (hidden) | Carry Weight +10 | 39.2% |
| Ladies’ man | Return the missing glove to the woman in the chair at the end of the rails | Max Thirst +10 | 16.6% |
| Prankster | After the first story quest, call the anti-terror hotline from the phone, pick option 3, and wait out about five minutes | Max Oxygen +10 | 15.0% |
| Patient | Stand at the Tickets station’s “break” sign until the wait timer finishes — it keeps growing, so bring extra oxygen (hidden) | Max Satiety +10 | 7.0% |
Which achievements are counters and long grinds?
The rest are cumulative counters. The efficient play is to let them accumulate while you play the story, then sweep the old areas once you have the Twister — the fourth harvesting tool, unlocked through the antennas quest and required for Hoodlum’s light bulbs. Alcohol for the two drinking achievements is brewable at 2 Ice + 1 Nutriworm per the materials reference; Oxyworms follow the routes in the oxygen guide, and the Nutri-Pack-O-Mat is covered in the food and water guide.
| Achievement | How to unlock it | Bonus* | Steam rate** |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hoodlum | Unscrew and collect 10 light bulbs (needs the Twister) | Heat Protection +5 | 55.8% |
| Slave to the Stomach | Recycle 100 nutrients in the Nutri-Pack-O-Mat | Hunger Drain −5% | 34.4% |
| Honorary vandal | Scrap 200 objects into scrap | Damage Dealt +5% | 19.9% |
| Bum rival | Knock 20 items out of trash cans | Max Stamina +10 | 15.9% |
| Jacked | Do 10 reps on the urological exercise machine toward the 10G antenna — one guide warns the reps hurt, so bring healing | Flight Speed +5% | 18.4% |
| Hunting Instinct | Yank moles out of asteroid deposits 10 times with the long arm — moles no longer respawn since 0.8.10, so the same-mole trick from launch guides is gone; plan several nests | Carry Weight +10 | 6.9% |
| Hehehehehe | Drink 10 Alcohol bottles back-to-back | Thirst Drain −5% | 6.5% |
| Happy whatever! | Drink 50 Alcohol bottles — brew extras from Ice and Nutriworms | Radiation Protection +10 | 4.3% |
| Oxyworm Collector | Collect 300 Oxyworms — one of the longest grinds in the set | Max Oxygen +30 | 4.5% |
| Visitor | Fully enter all seven Outskirts toilets | Fatigue Drain −5% | 10.5% |
| Gangsta | Provoke the cops into hostility 20 times, escaping each time | Physical Protection +2 | 6.2% |
What are the five hidden achievements?
Steam hides five names until you earn them: Patient, Biometrics, Medalist, Déjà vu, and What Did You Expect? All five are simple interactions — Patient is the queue-waiting gag at the Tickets station, Biometrics seats a corpse on its bench, Medalist just walks up to the medal car, Déjà vu breaks a bus wheel, and What Did You Expect? inspects an engine after Fighter. Their full unlock steps are in the tables above; only their Steam display is hidden.
