FAQ

How do recipes unlock in Breathedge 2?
Three ways: available from the start (Crowbar, Cutter, Thumper), unlocked by story progress (the Twister after the Three Antennas quest), or unlocked automatically the first time you pick up a key ingredient such as Fabric, Oxyworm, Alcohol, Refined Metal, or a Light Bulb.
What is Electrical Tape used for?
Electrical Tape (listed as Electric Tape in some recipes) is needed for almost every major repair inside the train, and for the Backpack. Keep a stock of it — along with Duct Tape, it's one of the most-consumed crafting supplies in Chapter 1.
Will the recipe list grow during Early Access?
Yes. The current table reflects build 0.8; launch coverage notes to expect more recipes and tool upgrades as the 16–20 month Early Access roadmap delivers content.

How does crafting work?

Open the crafting menu with the C key and build anything you have the materials for — there’s no separate crafting station for basic recipes; your powered-up train acts as the crafting hub. Resources come from salvaging the environment: Metal, Aluminum, Plastic, Wires, Duct Tape, Fabric, Alcohol, Ice, Nutriworm, Oxyworm, Refined Metal, Rubber, Glass, Light Bulbs, Titanium, and Electric Tape.

Which tools should I craft first?

Craft all three starting tools immediately — they’re cheap and each one harvests something the others can’t:

ToolUnlockIngredients
CrowbarDefault2× Metal
CutterDefault4× Aluminum, 2× Plastic, 4× Metal
ThumperDefault4× Metal, 2× Plastic

The Cutter is the priority: it extracts the Cardboard and Foam you need for 100 Cold Protection. The Crowbar doubles as your melee weapon — see the beginner guide for where it fits into the first 30 minutes.

What unlocks after the Three Antennas quest?

The Twister — the fourth harvesting tool — unlocks when you finish the Three Antennas quest chain in the Outskirts. It costs 4× Aluminum, 2× Wires, 3× Duct Tape, and 2× Plastic. Quest progression details are in the locations guide.

Which consumables matter early?

Two consumables stand out in Chapter 1, and both unlock by ingredient pickup:
