Can a GTX 1660 really run Breathedge 2?
Does Breathedge 2 run on Steam Deck?
Is there a Mac or Linux version?
Minimum requirements
These are the official minimum specs from the Steam store page — the floor for playing at all:
| Component | Minimum |
|---|---|
| OS | 64-bit Windows 10/11 |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 |
| Memory | 12 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB / AMD RX 5500 XT 6 GB |
| DirectX | Version 11 |
| Storage | 15 GB available space |
A 64-bit processor and operating system are required.
Recommended requirements
The recommended tier is a meaningful step up — this is what the developers suggest for playing the game as intended:
| Component | Recommended |
|---|---|
| OS | 64-bit Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel Core i7-13700 / AMD Ryzen 7 7700X |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB / AMD RX 6700 XT 8 GB |
| DirectX | Version 11 |
| Storage | 15 GB available space |
What these specs mean in practice
Breathedge 2 is an Unreal Engine 5 game, which explains the gap between the two tiers:
- The 12 GB RAM minimum is the real gate. Plenty of older builds that otherwise qualify sit at 8 GB — they are below the bar regardless of GPU.
- A GTX 1660 is an entry 1080p card. It meets the minimum, but expect reduced settings; the recommended RTX 3070 / RX 6700 XT class gives comfortable headroom at 1080p and 1440p.
- The install is small for a UE5 game — 15 GB, so storage is rarely the problem. See the save file guide for where those saves land (spoiler: it is not the install folder).
- Upscaling is in the build. SteamDB’s detected technologies list NVIDIA DLSS, Frame Generation, and Reflex SDKs, so RTX cards get the full assist suite.
Controllers, Steam Deck, and platforms
- Full controller support is listed on the store page, including DualShock and DualSense categories. Hotfix 0.8.7 added gamepad sensitivity, rebinding, and vibration settings.
- Two controller caveats were listed as known issues in the 0.8.5 notes — AZERTY keyboard layouts and some PS-style gamepads may not be detected — and no hotfix through 0.8.9 claims to fix them. If your pad is silent, check the Steam Input settings first.
- Steam Deck: Verified per SteamDB testing in August 2026, running through Proton 11 — and hotfix 0.8.9 specifically improved Steam Deck optimization. The game itself ships Windows-only; a PS5 version is announced for later. More context in the release date guide.
If the game runs poorly
Before assuming your hardware is at fault:
- Update your GPU drivers — the launch-window hotfixes fixed a 5120×1440 resolution reset, a VSync issue, and a 4K mouse-cursor bug, and 0.8.8 fixed crashes on Intel Core Ultra processors (caused by an outdated Intel AI Boost driver) — so make sure you are on build 0.8.9 or later.
- Turn on DLSS if you have an RTX card; it is supported in the shipped build.
- Verify the game files through Steam (Properties → Installed Files → Verify).
- File a report in-game — Esc → Report a Bug can attach your save file, and the developers were shipping fixes within days of launch.
For everything that is not a hardware question — language and voice support or whether the game has multiplayer — the technical section has you covered.
