FAQ

Where is the snowman in Breathedge 2?
At grid BB 30, at the end of the right-hand yellow train tunnel near the train station platform — between the platform and the heater area, on the natural route toward the Foreman and the 10G antenna. The Leader's Statue quest sits in the same tunnel.
In what order do the snowman parts attach?
Put the cigarette on first, then the carrot — that face order is the one documented combination. The beard, hat, and arm have no reported order restriction. Patch 0.8.10 tightened the nose rules: only one item counts as the nose now, where previously both the carrot and the cigarette could count at once.
Do I need to repair the heaters for the snowman?
Not strictly for the snowman itself — 100 Cold Protection covers its end of the tunnel. You want the heaters anyway: they are the same yellow-pipe gas lamps the Leader's Statue area needs, and repairing them opens an oxygen source so you are not flying back on fumes.

Where is the snowman, and when can I reach it?

Fly to grid BB 30: the snowman stands at the end of the right-hand yellow train tunnel near the train station platform, between the platform and the heater area. It sits on the route toward the Foreman in the Industrial Debris Zone, and the Leader’s Statue is in the same tunnel — the two restoration quests were made for one trip.

Timing-wise this is a mid-chapter quest: you want 100 Cold Protection built first (three Foam plus two Cardboard pieces cover it, crafted from the wardrobe salvage in your train car) and the Twister in hand for the tunnel’s red-lit sections, which arrives with the Three Antennas quest.

What should I bring before the trip?

The snowman’s end of the tunnel is survivable on standard insulation; the stock list is short:

  • 100 Cold Protection — the Foam-and-Cardboard setup from the getting-started gear chain.
  • Around 10 Purified Oxygen — two Oxyworm, one Metal, one Ice per bottle (recipe details in the crafting guide).
  • Two or three water bottles and nutrient packs — the tunnel has no oxygen source until the heaters run, so the return leg rides on what you carried in.

The gas-lamp heaters along the yellow pipes are the real objective beyond the snowman itself: repairing them with Light Bulbs (one heater sits by the blue platforms near the statue tunnel’s entrance) reactivates the heating — the flame icon on the HUD — warms the deeper tunnel, and opens that oxygen source.

Where is every snowman part?

Five pieces, all floating loose outside the tunnel to the west. The two face parts anchor the route: fly out past the tunnel mouth toward the billboard with the smoking slogan, and work the platforms around it.

PartWhere it floats
CigaretteWest of the tunnel, at the platform with the ice, in front of the billboard
CarrotSame platform as the cigarette
BeardLoose in open space west of the face parts, drifting free — one of the two farthest pickups of the set
HatLoose in open space near the illuminated billboard, toward the Leader’s Statue
ArmStraight out of the tunnel to the west, to the right just outside the mouth — roughly 50 meters, on the Foreman side

The beard and hat are the classic time sinks: guides place them in slightly different spots around the billboard-to-statue stretch because they drift loose instead of sitting on a platform. Sweep the corridor between the billboard and the statue in one pass and both cross your path.

In what order do the parts go on?

Attach the cigarette first, then the carrot — that face order is the documented working combination, and other orders have been reported to refuse. The beard, hat, and arm take any order after that. Each part snaps the same way as the statue pieces across the tunnel: carry it back, and it locks on.

One patch caveat: 0.8.10 tightened the nose logic — the snowman previously counted both the carrot and the cigarette as its nose at the same time; now only one nose item counts. If the face behaves differently than launch guides describe, that changed rule is the first suspect — it is the patch working, not you.

The finished snowman pops the Now That’s a Snowman! achievement and grants a permanent +5 Cold Protection — on top of your existing 100, which quietly upgrades every cold-belt run for the rest of the chapter, including the signal jammer finale. With the heaters already repaired for this trip, the Leader’s Statue next door is a cheap second clear while the tunnel is still warm.
